Anisha, we hope this email finds you safe and healthy.

In these unprecedented times, we believe it’s more important now than ever to cultivate our
future thought leaders and provide them with the tools they need to tackle some of the
world’s most pressing challenges—from global pandemics like COVID-19 to the resounding
effects of systemic racism.

With this in mind, we have been working diligently to identify ways to continue supporting
both you and your greater school community and would like to share some important
updates and resources.

Test Optional Policy

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to students around the
world—one of which is limited access to standardized testing. Due to a decrease in test
availability, Johns Hopkins is adopting a test-optional policy for students applying for
entry in the fall of 2021.

For more information regarding our test-optional policy, visit our Standardized Test
Information or commonly asked questions pages on our website.
College Planning Toolkit
We have created a College Planning Toolkit that prospective students and families—as
well as our partners across the high school counseling community—can reference as they
navigate the college admissions process in the upcoming year.

This page will provide resources such as:

• Updates on changes to university admissions policies

• Virtual admissions event options
• College planning tips from Hopkins admissions counselors
• Opportunities to partner with your counseling offices via panels, webinars, and
more

If you have any questions about how we are continuing to support your students and their
families, please feel free to reach out to your regional admissions officer.

Warm regards,

Ellen Kim
