Vampire(Đ.Vân Anh)

Scene 1: At God’s mercy

Once upon a time, there was a village where people had struggled to survive for
thousands of years. Barren land, extreme weather, pestilence, and conflict happened
so often that they regarded themselves as stepchildren of God. Then one day, a
mysterious boy arrived at their village....
The boy: - What are you doing?
- As you can see, we are digging a well to get some water
in this long-term drought. But, this seems impossible now.
Villager:
The land is so dry. No water can be found here! We have
been doing this for more than two weeks!
The boy: - You guys are so poor! Let me help you.
- Well, well, do anything you want, and thank you so much.
Villager:
But remember: no one can make this f*cking place better to

live, except for magicians.
- I’m not a magician, but I’m a monk blessed by God. I’ll

help you guys.
- Thank you once more time. Anyway, we don’t expect any

miracle.
Two days later, the villagers’ wish came true. A heavy rain poured down, giving
them enough water to survive the drought. The once impoverished place now became
more and more affluent.
And the monk arrived again.
- You’re really the apple of God’s eye! We can’t put our

gratitude into words.
- My pleasure. What else do you want? I can realise all

dreams.
- I want money, just money, as much as possible!
- I want to be a king!
Villagers:
- I want to live in richness and do nothing in the whole life!
-.....
The monk: - Tonight, go to the west of this village until you see a big
(smiled) oak tree. Then your dreams will come true soon.
That night, a crowd gathered under the oak tree, waiting for their
greedy demands to be met.
The monk:
(give each person - Drink this cup of tea, and God will fulfill your wishes.
a cup of red tea)
The suggestible villagers gulfed their tea cup without thinking. And now, they were

happy with their demands met in illusion.
More and more naive believers came to meet the monk to seek for help from God.
They all saw their wishes come true, but they all lapsed into unconsciousness.
The monk: - Oh, what greed filled human nature....
After just a short time, the village turned into a ghost one because of God’s bless. All
residents died in their own unreal happiness. The monk left for other miserable
places, unaware that someone was following him in secret.
Scene 2: The “vampire” case
There had been a controversy recently about whether vampire existed. The police
found a lot of people who died of blood sucking in many places. No one could explain
this tragedy or knew when it would stop. The sheriff of the National Police was
present in any mysterious scene related to this case, trying to discover something.
One day at his police station...
The sheriff: - There must be a link among these deaths.....But what is it?
- Let’s see what the security cameras might have captured.
- Hmm....What’s that mysterious shadow? Are there blood
stains on it?
- This guy maybe the killer.
- I’m not sure. I don’t want to believe that vampire really
exists...
- And that boy....why was he there?
Scene 3: Investigation
The sheriff asked many people the monk’s address. And he eventually found him.
The sheriff: - We need your cooperation in this investigation.
The monk: - Oh, what’s up?
The sheriff:
(showed the

case)
The monk: - Yes. But does this matter?
- I have the suspicion that you’re involved in the recent
The sheriff: mass murder. All the places you’ve been to turned into
ghost ones just after you leave.
The monk: - Believe me, I can’t be the killer!
- It’s just my suspicion. Now I have some questions for
The sheriff:
you. Answer honestly, please.
They didn’t know that their conversation was overheard secretly by a person in
black whose shadow was caught by security cameras.
When the sheriff ended his investigation and was about to leave, he saw a letter in
front of the monk’s house door: “The vampire will come to the church at the first full
moon night of this month. The tragedy will end in exchange for the monk’s life”
The sheriff: - We, the police, must protect this monk.

The vampire appeared on the top of the church.
The vampire: - Where’s the monk?
The sheriff: - Shoot! Don’t let it escape!!
The vampire was so quick that no bullet could reach her. Suddenly, the sheriff felt
that his blood was being sucked. And his turned back... To his horror, the monk was
using a cuptea to take his blood away.
- Human blood is the most delicious food ever! And I love
The monk: seeing the horror on their faces. You will be the next
victim, Sheriff!!
The teacup broke to the monk’s surprise. The vampire was facing him.
The monk: - Making you instead that police my victim seems not bad!
The vampire: - You have no chance of doing this.
Before the monk’s another teacup reached the vampire, he fell down. The vampire
shot him with a gun hidden in the coat.
- The tragedy ends here, as said in the letter. That monk is

actually a vampire. He, in someway or another, made

The sheriff: - So who are you?
- You don’t need to know. But I’m not a vampire. I have to

The “vampire” case ended and soon faded in people’s mind. But there remained
some lessons from it.
