1. John and Carol’s “dream vacation” didn’t go off as planned at all.

delayed unexpectedly. OWING TO THIS They had to wait for six hours at the airport.

LATER During the flight, there was a lot of turbulence and THANKS TO THIS Carol got sick.

FINALLY When they landed, they found that the rental car agency didn’t have a car ready for them.
HOWEVER They were able to rent a car from another company.

APART FROM THAT The weather was rainy and cold in Paris.

BESIDES They had to spend more money than they’d planned because everything was so
expensive.

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT They were very disappointed ALTHOUGHT There were many enjoyable
moments.

2. In the morning I felt sick BUT I had to do the homework. TAKING THIS INTO ACCOUNT, i
got out of bed and went to the study room, AFTER, I started my homework TILL THAT it
was 11 at night.
