CONTROL OF TRAFFIC
1. The Contractor shall construct the work with the least possible obstruction to Minimise
traffic. Obstruction
2. Two weeks before undertaking work which would involve any obstruction Traffic
whatsoever to traffic the Contractor shall submit, for the Superintendent's approval, a Management
Traffic Management Plan in accordance with AS 1742.3. This action constitutes a HOLD Plan
POINT. The Superintendent’s approval of the submitted Traffic Management Plan is
required prior to the release of the hold point. HP
3. Where the Traffic Management Plan involves Regulatory Traffic Control Signs or Additional
Devices and/or where in the opinion of the Superintendent the disruption to local traffic is Notice
significant, the prior approval of the Council Local Traffic Committee will be sought and
obtained prior to the release of the hold point. In such cases the period of notice shall be
increased to five weeks in accordance with Clause 201.24.

6. Special consideration to the safety of pedestrians and workers shall be given in Safety
the preparation of the Traffic Management Plan. Particular care shall be taken when
requiring reversal of traffic flows or the separation of unidirectional flow by medians or
other physical separation.
7. A copy of the approved Traffic Management Plan shall be kept on site at all times
and used to check the arrangement and maintenance of traffic control devices in
accordance with Clauses 201.21 and 201.22.
