Independent variables: Workplace environment

Competitive compensation package (i.e. salary)

Dependent variable: employees’ attitude

2. Write operational definitions of each variable.

Operational definition:

workplace environment: Kohun (1992), defines workplace environment as totality of forces, actions and
other influential factors that are currently and, or potentially contending with the employee’s activities
and performance. Working environment is the sum of the interrelationship that exists within the
employees and the environment in which the employees work.

Please look for operational definitions of other variables, as I did for workplace environment

3. Write rationale of the study (why you choose this topic)

With changing nature of academia and industry, employees’ attitude has become a detrimental success
factor. Employees with positive attitude can play a vital role for enhancing the overall performance of
the organization. On the other hand, there can be several factors which can affect the employees’
attitude at work. An interactive and healthy workplace environment and competitive compensation
package can be among the various factors which might have an effect on the employees’ attitude. It
would be interesting to know that how a healthy workplace environment and a competitive
compensation package can affect the employees’ attitude at workplace.

4. Write at least two research questions

RQ 1: What is the effect of workplace environment on the employees’ attitude?

RQ 2: What is the effect of competitive compensation package on employees’ attitude?

5. Write at least two hypotheses.

Hypothesis 1: Workplace environment has a positive effect on employees’ attitude.

Hypothesis 2: Competitive compensation package has a positive effect on employees’ attitude.
