Definition of Corporation
- A corporation is an artificial being created by operation of
law, having the right of succession and the powers,
attributes and properties expressly authorized by law or
incident to its existence. (Sec. 2, Corporation Code)
b. Classes of Corporations
- Corporations are classified into public and private. Some
authorities include quasi-public corporations in the
classification.
- Public corporations is one created by the state either by
general or special act for purposes of administration of local
government or rendering services in the public interest.
