Meeting the needs of every student is an ethical responsibility of any educator and the

ethical right of any students. To meet the needs of every student, the involvement includes going

the extra mile, even if that mile means staying up and researching throughout the entire night or

multiple nights. When meeting the needs of all learners, educators must remember that the need

drives the service. To fully individualize learning to best benefit a student, educators must think

about what the students need. When the student’s needs are identified, then there are many

opportunities to give the student the chance to learn in the way they learn best. Meeting the needs

of all learners is what makes the difference in education and in life. Being specific to each

learner’s needs and developing a plan to best involve each student provides a purposeful and

engaging learning opportunity.

Meeting the needs of learners can be any where from academic needs, social emotional

needs, socioeconomic needs, or cultural needs. Regardless of the derivative of the need, meeting

the need and developing it are fully in responsibility of an educator. Students are in the education

system for thirteen or more years and in school longer then they are at home on an average

school day. Teachers and educators are the first in response to developing and meeting needs of

students outside of their family. Educators should take initiative of this power and give and

provide students with what they need. Meeting the needs of a learner is what allows the learner

to learn and achieve. By meeting the needs of the learner, the educators are facilitating a happy

and healthy environment for their classroom that encourages constant and consistent love and

learning.

In my classroom, I will always meet the needs of my learners. As a future special

education teacher there is no exception. My entire purpose as an educator is to meet my students’

needs where they are at and facilitate growth. For academic needs, I will have a variety of goals

and activities that differentiated for the purpose of each student. Guided reading groups and other

forms of small group instruction will be in constant rotation in my classroom. When meeting the

socioeconomic and the social emotional needs of my students I will keep my classroom filled

with provisions. I plan on having a variety of snacks for students to eat when they are hungry, at

any point in the day. My students will also have cups or water bottles for frequent access to

water. In my classroom, I will also have a clothing closet. The clothing closet will be for students

who are need of clothing for any weather or any circumstance. All the clothing will be donations

and accessible to all in need. I will provide students with school supplies and minimize the

necessities of parent donations and expectations. My classroom will always be filled with a

loving environment. The most important way to meet my students’ needs is through loving them.

I will give my students frequent and encouragement and access to safe person and environment.

In my classroom, I will thrive to meet the short and long term needs of all of my students and

those who are surrounding the student.
