Several international and national certification schemes are applicable for various categories of portable containers. C2 General certification requirements for offshore containers ‘The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has Issued guidelines for certification of offshore containers, nereular MSC/Cre 860, ‘The circular s intended to guide national authorities (the Administration") in developing approval and certiieation requirements for offshore containers. C3 _ International requirements for frelght containers [Mo's International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) requires relght containers asdefined in tht. Convention tobe certified to CSC Offshore containers, as Gelined in MSC/Cire 0, are ot covered by the CSC. However, some offshore containers which are wed internationally for transport of cargo, wi also fall within the definition of container inthe CSC. For sich offshore contalners the requirements ofboth MSC/Cire60 and the CSC are applicable.
