Rope jumping is taught in the elementary and secondary schools with all its details as a part of the physical fitness program issued by the Depart- ment of Education, Culture and Sports in a Memo- randum Number 54, s. 1994. Here are a few basic jumps that you can use. Make variations as you please. 1. Basic jumps. Jump on both feet and land on balls. Keep feet, ankles, and knees together Fig. 50 2. Skiers Jump. Jump side to side, bend knees slightly as you land. Fig. 51 3. Straddle Jump. Jump and land feet apart, shoul- der-length, and return to a basic bounce. (Try the cross jump as you progress.)
