EGOR MATVEYEV: We're excited to have you all join our program.
And I would like to give you a brief overview.
But first let me introduce myself.
My name is Egor Matveyev.
I lead the development of our MicroMasters
program and our courses.
I'm a faculty member of the finance group
at MIT Sloan, where I am teaching
in a variety of programs, including
MBA, Masters in Finance, and the Sloan Fellows Program.
Our MicroMasters program consists
of five courses, Foundations of Modern Finance Part I,
Foundations of Modern Finance Part II, Financial Accounting,
Mathematical Methods for Quantitative Finance,
and Derivatives Markets.
By completing all five courses, you
will earn the MicroMasters credential in finance from MIT.
It can be used to advance your career,
as well as be a first step in earning masters
degree in finance, either at MIT Sloan
or at our partner universities.
At MIT Sloan School of Management,
for example, learners who earned MicroMasters credential
in finance are eligible for 42 equivalent MIT course
units that can be applied towards a masters of finance
degree.
For comparison, most semester-long courses
at MIT Sloan are nine credit units.
You're also welcome to take our individual courses.
For example, if you already know the basics of finance,
and you would like to deepen your understanding
of derivative securities and derivative markets,
you can take our derivatives course
and earn a credential specifically for that course.
In all our courses, we have developed individual exams
that allow us to test your knowledge
and for you to show your understanding of the subject.
Our testing process is rigorous and complies
with our internal practices for MIT students.
Earning our credentials will allow
you to demonstrate your knowledge and your skills
at the highest level.
We're excited to share our knowledge with you.
And I hope that you will join our program.
