- Stripping is removing of the linen for you to clean it.

- All you need here is a chair and your gloves

Wash your hands


- To avoid spread of microorganisms
Place two chairs at the foot part of the bed
- This will you to freely move and also to put your pillow and the hamper
Put your gloves on
- This will protect you to have indirect contact from the contaminated bed.
Remove the pillow case. Make sure to roll contaminated part under it and
make it as a hamper.
- This will lessen the contamination and for your to put the soiled linens.
Cuff the pillow case on the other chair and put your pillow on the other side
- It allow you to easily put the soiled sheets and to not contaminate the pillow
Starting here on my side untuck all the linens.
- It will easy for you to roll the linens
Roll first the top sheet and then the bottom sheet separately. When rolling
make sure to roll over on the side that is in contact with the PT.
- Rolling will help to easily store the linens and also for the contaminated part
to not come in contact with you. And do this on the other side and make a ball
afterwards and put it in the hamper.
Turn the mattress upside down
- For it to have and equal push
Loosen the hamper and put it in the utility room.
- So that it will be washed.

Unoccupied bed is a bed that does not call for any special cases. To provide
comfort for the PT.
- All you need is a bottom sheet, top sheet, 1 pillow case and a pillow

But first you have to fold the linens.


For the bottom sheet:
The bigger hem must me on the on the foot part
The right side inwards then fold making sure that the center fold is facing the
bed, then fold it again.
My partner will come close to me and fold the linen

For the top sheet


The bigger hem must be on the head part
The right side outside then fold, make sure that the center fold is facing the
bed, then fold it again

Wash your hands
- To avoid spread of microorganisms
Assemble your linens, the pillow case must be at the bottom then the top
sheet last would be the bottom sheet.
- This will be able to save time and to grasp the linens according to its
sequence
Shift the mattress up to the head of the bed
- Allow foot room and move the mattress against the head of the bed.
Place the bottom sheet at the foot part of mattress with the bigger hem in
contact with the mattress. Open the mattress and bring and extra part towards
the head part.
- This allow adequate linen to cover the opposite bed.
Unfold one side then roll it making sure to no expose the part that have
contact with the PT
- Not exposing it will avoid contamination
Then grasp one corner of the sheet and tuck the head part by lifting the bed
- This will prevent the linen from being caught by the spring of the bed.
Miter the the bottom sheet, Then tuck and make sure to stretch to avoid
bumps.
- This will help to secure the linen to not move when the bed is occupied.
Then put the top sheet from the head part bring extra part towards the foot
part.
- This allow adequate linen to cover the opposite bed.
Unfold one side then roll it making sure to no expose the part that have
contact with the PT
- Not exposing it will avoid contamination
Miter the top sheet on the foot part, then do not the sheet in
- This allow the PT to easily slip on the bed.
Fold the upper 18” of the top sheet down and make a cuff
- The cuff will makes it easier for the PT to cover up.
Make the other side of the bed with the same procedure making sure that it is
properly tucked.
- Doing the other side completely will help save time
Grasp the center of the pillow case towards the close end. Turn it inside out
and with one hand. Grab the center of one end of the pillow and pull the case
over towards the length of the pillow.
- This will allow the pillow to easily slide inside the pillow case.
Place the pillow case on the head part of the bed facing the open end away
from the entrance
- For a neater appearance.
You can draw the top sheet over the pillow to make it as a close bed. Or if not
an open bed for convenience
Secure the device signal near reach the client
- For the client to easily grab it.
Arrange the furnitures and clean the hands to avoid contamination.

Obstetrical Bed a bed prepared for the client who has given birth
All you need is a top sheet, bottom sheet, top sheet, waterproof pad, diaper

Do the same procedure in what you did in the unoccupied bed.

Fan fold the top sheet towards the foot part


- For you easily place things under it. And for the PT to easilyay down
Place the waterproof underpad where the buttocks lies.
- This will help so that the linen will get soiled when there is discharge
Place 2 pillows one is for the head part of the bed, and the other will be
placed at the back of the knees will rest with open end facing the entrance
- The part will serve a protector from head injuries and the knee part will relax
the adbominal muscle and provide comfort.
Then unfanfold the top sheet covering the PT.
- this will provide comfort for the PT
On the bed side table you can place a diaper so that the PT can use it if there
are any discharge
Secure the signal device that is near the reach of the PT for easy access.
Fix the furniture to make the area spacious and then wash hands to avoid
contamination

Post-Operative bed is a bed prepared for pt who undergone surgery. To have


the client feel warm and safe and to easily put the PT after surgery.

Do the same procedure in what you did in the unoccupied bed.

Un tuck the top sheet


- This allow you to be able to fan fold the top sheet
Fan fold the top sheet towards the other side like this making a trianle
- This will be able to easily grasp the top sheet and for the covenience of the
PT
Move the pillow and pace the bed protector and cover it with bath towel on the
head part
- It will protect the linen from getting soiled
Place the pillow on the head board
- To avoid injuries
Then put the waterproof underpad and a pillow direct just below it
- This allow to protect the linen to not get soiled and also for the abdominal
muscle to relax
Hang the gown and tucking in the strap on the head part
- For it to look neat and for an easy access
Prepare the equipment on the bed side
Kidney basin lined with tissue paper and towel for vomitus
Padded tongue depressor in case the PT is not allowed to eat.
Suction apparatus for suctioning
Then put the hot water bath in between the top sheet
- This allow to warm the bed and prevent chills but remove if the PT arrives
Then, snugly tuck the PT in the bed and tuck the foot part of the sheet and
loosen it
- This will allow the PT to feel warm and will allow movement of the feet.
Attach the other gadget like the catheter, IV pole and also the signal light near
the PT for easy access
Arrange the furniture to make space and wash you hands afterwards.
