JACK AND BEATRICE

It’s 3 a.m. and Beatrice and Jack Benson are sleeping when Beatrice suddenly wakes up...

Beatrice: Wake up, Jack! I just heard something downstair.

Jack: What? It’s 3 o’clock in the morning!

Beatrice: Jack! I’m sure I heard something. There’s somebody in the house!

Jack: There isn’t anybody in the house. Go back to sleep.

Beatrice: Please, honey. Go and check around the house. Maybe a burglar broke in. He’s
probably somewhere downstair trying to steal something.

Jack: You watch too many movies, Beatrice. There’s nobody down there!

Beatrice: But listen! Can’t you hear that noise? Are you going to let somebody walk off with
everything we own?

Jack: I can’t hear anything. You’re just imagining things.

Beatrice: What about the children? Are yo usure they’re O.K.?

Jack: Nothing is wrong with the kids. Please go back to sleep. I have to get up early in the
morning.

Beatrice: I’m not going to back to sleep until you check every room in this house.

Jack: If I do, will you leave me alone and let me sleep?

Beatrice: Yes.

15 minutes later.....

Jack: O.K., there’s nothing to worry about. I’ve looked everywhere and I`m absolutely sure there’s
nobody anywhere. Are you satisfied?

Beatrice: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
