The academic skills that I would like to develop is research skills,

particularly in constructing ideas logically and citing sources. There will

be times that my ideas are scattered and have unnecessary sentences. In
citing sources, I usually need to take a look multiple times on how to cite
them properly both in the in – text citations and references section. I also
want to hone my skills on grammatical tenses and improve my word
choice / vocabulary list to widen my knowledge. And also, learn how to
be an independent learner and be more responsible learning on my own.
As a student, these skills will help me understand thoroughly academic
texts and online/physical lectures given by my professors. It will also
improve my communication skills during presentations, discussions,
normal conversations with my classmates and professors. And lastly, it
will help me construct a more clear, structured and organized academic
writing that will help a lot when I’m creating an essay or research paper.
As a professional, the academic skills that I’ve learned in school will
help me a lot with my career. For example would be leadership skills,
without a goal in mind there would be no work done. That’s why boss or
managers are very important because they are assigning tasks and
leading the team. Leadership skills that I’ve learned in group projects
would help me lead my own team and be successful. Time management
skills is also essential to this aspect, in order to get more work done and
accomplish tasks on designated times, one should know which to
prioritize. And lastly, communication is important in our daily lives,
whether it be at home, with friends and in work. Having good
communication skills will create a stress-free workplace and have more
clients. it will also help me when making an oral presentation and during
seminars.
