Program

1 Load in Controller -> after editing

2 Load from Controller -> before editing, to safe data
3 Picture library -> possibility to find reference images
-> stop recording
-> choose and safe pictures
-> start recording
4 See picture from archive by click on -> e.g. to find a reference image
5 Settings -> e.g. scaling update for new size,
simulation images, reference update,...

3 Create new program
A new program is created by coping an existing one
1) File(F)
2) Save as new program No.(A)

Workplace is only on SD1 (SD2 is used only for image store and main settings)
1) Create a new program number by clicking "Next Available No. (S)"
2) Press "OK" and edit the name of the program

4 Rename an existing program
1) Select the program which you want to rename
2) Click the right mouse button for edit
3) Rename (M)
4) Agree the new name in the sub menu

5 Select the scaling for a new product
size
Because of the different product size, it is necessary to edit the scaling for the number of
pixel in relationship to the real size.
1) Settings (S)
2) Scaling (A)

5.1 Select the scale for the y-coordinate and and the
length
Scales are predefined for he following
sizes:
(can be extended -> global variables)
$Y_Skalierung_Mini
$Y_Skalierung_Midi
$Y_Skalierung_Maxi
$Y_Skalierung_Junior
$Y_Skalierung_XL
By writing "$" in the selection box, the
choices of the scaling will appear auto-
matically. Scaling numbers will change
automatically.
Do not change the values!

6 Standard workspace for the Keyence
Software
The standard desktop of the Keyence software consists of the drop down lists (A), the
Toolbar (B), the product image (C) which can be selected and the flow/process charts
(D) on the left side.

6.1 Picture library

This image archive is used for select, delete or add images (for example search reference
images)

6.2 The Flow / Process Chart
The following areas can be moved on position, resided and enhanced by filter op-
tions.

6.3 Settings and Adjustment

The adjustments below are used for the setting:

Region: Adjust the position and the size of the controlled area
Image Enhance: Display in the test window (adjustment via brightness, contrast,...)
Edge Filter: Illustration of the search edge (light <-> dark), adjustment and settings
when this edge is recognizable and when sufficient for the analysis.
Tolerance: Range incl. upper lower signal. Range is in yellow, green and red
color (Adjustment are much easier with the controller)

The individual areas will be explained more in detail below

6.4 Region
1) Edit (E)
2) Rotated Rect.

There are two possible adjustments. The size (Width / Height) of the control area can
be adjust or only the position (X / Y) of the control area. Normally only an adjustment
of the position X or Y is sufficient.
Both sides should be on the same high level, therefor note the coordinates in y-direction.

6.5 Special feature at the control area
FE edge right and FE edge left will not move by adjust the x and y coordinates. The
position of the window will fix exactly at the position with the help of the cursor.

6.6 Edge filter
Adjustments for the search options of an edge and how it will be displayed.
The following settings are possible:
Scan Direction
It is possible to search an edge in the con-
trol window in both direction (forward /
backward).
Edge Direction
You can search the edges from light to
dark or from dark to light.
Edge strength
This adjustment and settings can be used
to determine which edge are to recognize
and how well the edge will be detected
(see picture: Intensity of 202.7).

Example:

In this example an edged will search in the control area from light to dark, form left to
right. The determined value is 202.7. The upper value for the edge intensity is 255 and

the lower value if the intensity is 80.
In this example the values is very good and there will be no problem to recognized the
edge during the operation, because the bad products are determine by an value less
than 80.

6.7 Limits
In the tab Limits, the current measured value is displayed during the operation. Addi-
tional adjustment option for the limits range can be set here.

It is much easier to adjust this values for the tolerances directly on the panel with the
controller!

6.8 Image Enhance
It is possible with setting sand adjustments the illustration of the edge to change to a
more visible edition.
Usually we use there for the option convert contrast.
During the setting the value will increase until the material is most clearly visible.
Subsequently only for the snip edge this value will reduce approx. 20-30 less.

An additional option to adjust the visible is the Contrast Converter to get the best
possible image or edge.

6.9 Reference positions from reference images
When all settings are finished, all positions are correct and all filters have been adjusted
as far as possible, the processing is finished.
Afterwards it is necessary to update these settings with the following steps:

1) Settings (S)
2) Update Reference Position from Registered Images (R)

This update is necessary so that all settings and adjustments are also accepted and up
to date!

6.10 Check with Simulation
There is also the possibility to control the position by a simulation.
Therefore pictures have to be safe upfront in the simulation folder.
Upfront this picture files have to be safe in the camimg folder by help of the windows
explorer.
Copy picture in the simulation program and start running the pictures!

1) Tools (T)
2) XG Simulator (U)

6.11 Load on Controller
!Before start loading on the controller, safe the program one more time!

Afterwards all files have to be uploaded on the controller (A).

For this purpose only check the first two boxes with a mark for the transmission.
Normally only the first one is marked, the second is only necessary when there is a new
reference picture has been created.
