Scope & The scope of this procedure is to identify the responsibility of all Applicabi ‘employees, in the enforcement of adherence to the Nishat Chunian Power Limited Safety Procedures, Responsibilities: All employees are responsible for wearing required personal safety equipment at all times. Loose fitting or torn clothing is not allowed in machine areas. B. Treated cotton uniforms shall be worn by all Nishat Chunian Power Limited personnel in machine area. Uniforms will be provided by NCPL C. No jewelry during working hours. D. Chemical suits will be worn while working with chemical. Bye Protection A. During grinding, chipping, safety glass and face shield shall be used, B. Safety glasses must be worn while chemical handling & Other Specific tasks C. Contractors must supply their own eye protection during cutting, grinding that meets the Nishat Chunian Power Limited requirements. 3. Head Protection A. Employees and visitors shall wear approved head protection (helmet) at the work site as below locations, ~ Operators are not supposed to wear helmets during routine work. Only helmets will be worn during inspections at stairs or height like JW expansion tank area - Helmet is only mandatory in the areas where drop probability object and/or fall from height exists during inspection/maintenance. 1B. Hard hats are not to be modified in any way. (eg, drilling holes, repairing cracks, ete.) C. Contractors must supply their own hard hats that meet the Nishat Chunian Power Limited requirements. D. Hard Hat is Mandatory, Where is working at height, drop object area Ftc. 4, Earing Protection A. Eating protection must be wom in any area of the plant with an ambient noise level of 85 db or higher. ‘These areas will be clearly marked with appropriate signage. In general engine hall, FT room and boiler area falls under this category. B. Only approved hearing protection devices are to be used. There is a supply of such in the control room and maintenance shop at all times. Visitors may use ear plugs if they feel irritation from ear muffs, - Foot Protection A. Approved work type safety shoes or boots will be worn at all times in machine building area, storage tank area, piping area, workshop and FT room. Safety Shoes will be provided by NCPL B. Contractors must supply their own foot protection that mects the requirements of the Nishat Chunian Power Limited for the workers working in machine area. Safety shoes are not mandatory for Gardeners & cleaners working outside ‘machine building areas. 2, Hand Protection ‘A. Gloves shall be worn while working around hot surfaces, chemicals, or any ‘material with sharp edges. Gloves shall NOT be worn when working around rotating machinery B. Special chemical handling gloves are supplied, as well as gloves for working with hot equipment. 3. Face Shields ‘A. Face shields and safety glasses shall be worn when: Grinding or chopping any material. When handling wet cell batteries.
