Dyslexia is not included in Macedonian law system.

The institutions do not have directions who can work with people with dyslexia.
There is a lack of professionals who can work with dyslexic people and there are no institutions where
dyslexia is going to be diagnosed and where people can be given support for the problem.

Primary educational law edited inclusion of children with special needs but in by laws dyslexia
,dyscalculia and dysgraphia are not included.
Dyslexia is mentioned in Macedonia in recent years.However ,the Ministry of Education and labour are
much more aware now of the efforts of civil organizations which main purpose is to improve the rights
of the people with dyslexia.
The education of teachers is at the beginning level ,only through seminars and workshops,and they are
not compulsary,so a lot od educational workers have problems to recognize the dyslexia and to give
appropriate help to their students.
The results are disappointing .After finishing school children are not just uneducated but they lack self
confidence and are frustrated too.
In our country parents of dyslexic children turn to Centers for Mental health of children and Centers for
Hearing and speech where they have certain support and help.
In this kind of institutions they can not be given a document that their children are facing the problem
with dyslexia.
However,these two institutions do not have professionals to detect dyslexia.
Therefore we can not say that we have reached the necessary level in the treatment of people with
dyslexia.
Study programme of Faculty of Logopedy is not specialized nor modern enough in this field.
According to logopedists one of the main problems is that there isn,t standard instrument to estimate
dyslexia.
The situation is not different on other faculties in the country.
This problem is mentioned only in few units of some subjects from the study programme on
Faculty of Pedagogy as well as on Pedagogical academy.
If the education workers are not educated well in this field we miss the prevention from dyslexia.
In conclusion,we need modern and specialized study content for dyslexia in the frames of the faculties.
Only theory is not enough .
Practice of students with special methods for people with dyslexia are compulsary.
