Officer candidates should be very involved in the chapter and regularly attend chapter and FFA events, They should be in good academic standing and not have a history of disciplinary actions 2.) Elected officers will automatically be enrolled in the FFA Officer Servi ship Course as flex credit. This will add accountability to your commitment and reward you for your time and leadership. 3.) President - Provide leadership by managing, delegating and leading by example of dedication and positive representation in professional and personal life. Open only to members with at least one year of officer experience. i) Attend and assist in planning all activities. ii.) Participate in the parliamentary procedure CDE. .) Delegate responsibilities to officer team and committee members. iv.) Create a climate of inclusion by engaging in welcoming conversation with chapter membership. v.) Encourage member participation in all chapter activities vi.) Maintain a positive attitude about FFA and all FFA activities at all times. .) Serve as editor in chief for the National Chapter Award application. \ viii.) Update social medias (facebook, twitter and instagram), ix.) _ Bdit & produce quarterly newsletter, x.) Coordinate monthly officer meetings, xi.) Serve as MSFFA Committee chair. xii.) _ Exhibit the FFA Code of Ethics. b.) Vice President of Communities - Open to any member to serve as a sophomore or higher grade. i.) Attend and assist in planning all activities. ii,) Preside over meetings in the absence of the President. iii.) Encourage member participation in all chapter activities iv.) Set up and tear down of chapter meeting room. ¥.) Create and update classroom and hallway bulletin boards each quarter. vi) Exhibit the FFA Code of Ethics. 4.) Officers MUST participate in a two day retreat over the summer at Camp Kern. This activity is free to officers and is a fun way to unplug and connect as a team. It is also crucial to spend time together planning some activities for the upcoming year. Once the new officer team is set, members will be given a blank June, July & August calendar, Officers will be asked to return those calendars with “black out dates” which are dates over the summer when officers ARE NOT available to schedule an officer retreat. Once the retreat is set, it CANNOT be rescheduled, 5.) The election process will consist of the scoring of the application, scoring of the scenario event and scoring of the adult evaluations (3). These scores will be added to the popular vote to determine who the nine individuals serving on the officer team will be. Those nine individuals will then be interviewed by the chapter advisors to determine the best fit for cach office’s job description, a.) Adult evaluations should not be seen by the officer candidate. Have evaluating teachers place them in Mr. Heeg or Miss Steiner’s mailbox. Envelopes can be provided if evaluations need to be retumed by mail. Evaluations can also be returned to Miss Steiner or Mr. Heeg in person or email Good Luck! Blanchester FFA Officer Elections 2019 There will be five steps in the process of electing the 2019 Blanchester FFA Officer Team. They are as, follows: 1, Adult Evaluations- This is to be filled out and returned to Mr, Heeg or Mr. Shell by the application date and before interviews. The average score of the three evaluations will be multiplied by a factor of 0.10. 2. Popular Vote- The ballots will be distributed during class periods to those members who have attended at least one chapter meeting within the 2018-2019 school year. Each eligible voter will be able to for up to nine candidates. The total number of votes earned by each candidate will be multiplied by a factor of 0.10. 3. Scenario Event- This will be an extemporaneous writing activity to be distributed in a closed setting, It is to be completed at that time and will be evaluated by individuals not directly associated with the Blanchester FFA. The score will be multiplied by a factor of 0.15. 4. Application- This is to be filled out and returned to Mr. Heeg or Miss Steiner by the application deadline. The application will be evaluated by individuals not directly associated with the Blanchester FFA. The application score will be multiplied by a factor of 0.10. 5. Interview- The total of the evaluations, popular vote, scenario event and application will determine who the nine officers are. Those finalists will interview with Mr. Heeg & Miss Steiner to determine each candidate’s best fit into each office. It also x3 shows an interest in being an effective team member. ‘Thoughtfulness to Chapter Success Response shows an interest in bettering the chapter and increasing participation, POA (Program of Activities), and overall chapter x2 success. It exhibits an interest in being an effective and meaningful chapter. ‘Total Score NOTES/COMMENTS: Rubric for Application Please score candidates on a range from 1-5.
