How are values formed? How do they influence our attitudes toward work and others?

Values are a mixture of our experiences with humans and with the environment we find ourselves.
Most of the times, values are imposed from where you grow up, in childhood and is reinforced
through our interactions with others and culture. It can also be formed through friends and peers,
media, religion, history, etc. Values have a great influence on the kind of judgments we make and
how we relate and work with people. Working with people of different values can create conflict and
impact on our relationships with fellow staffs. Values also influence our leadership style and behavior
(Makin, 2014).

In the workers’ perspective, why are perceptions their reality?

the way our mind interprets the world around us drives our beliefs, and in turn, our beliefs drive our
actions. (Employees' Perception is Culture Reality 2016) .

There are many factors, which forms the perceptions of each employee that holds their work
environment. It depends on their personality and the way they communicate with each other.

.3.Why do negative behaviors affect organizational success?

A negative attitude in the workplace creates an atmosphere of distrust among employees and
causes employees to attempt to achieve success at the expense of each other. In a workplace with
a positive attitude, competition is seen as a motivator that inspires employees to perform at their
best to improve productivity (Corpuz, 2015).
What can organizational leaders do to foster a positive work environment?

Creating a positive work environment for your team will allow you to get the most out of your
employees. The more your employees feel accepted and happy, the more motivated they will be to
work. Here are some things companies need to do to foster a positive work environment that will
yield great results for your employees and your company.
Have good and clear communication practices
Show your appreciation
Demonstrate Empathy
Showing of gratitude
Reinforce Purpose – Today’s employees, especially millennial, want more from their jobs than just a
paycheck. Research shows that employees with a strong sense of purpose are at least four times
more likely to be engaged in their jobs as other employees. They are also healthier, happier and
more productive.
