Officials in track or running events

1. Clerk of course- a person appointed to mark


and announce the time in an athletic game or
contest
2. Starter – has jurisdiction over the competitors
at starting line except for those duties assigned
to the clerk of the course, and shall decide
without appeal whether a start is fair and legal,
or which competitors shall be charge false with
a false start.
3. Track judge/ umpire- record what is seen
without being influenced by anyone else. To
carry out the basic duties such as; judging, lap
board and bell, break line, take over judge,
hurdle observation, umpiring for observing
running out of lane or impending other
athletes and what these involve.
4. Marksman- who inspect the runner if they are
in good position
5. Lane judge – officials assign to look if the
runner crossing the lane
6. Timer- he is the one records and check the time
of the runner.
