3.CAT
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in India. This
test scores a person on the bases of quantitative ability, data
interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning. The Indian Institutes of
Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for
their business administration programs. The test is conducted every year by one
of the IIM's based on a policy of rotation. In August 2011, it was announced
that Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
would also use the CAT scores, instead of the Joint Management Entrance
Test (JMET), to select students for their management programmes from 2012-14
year.[3] Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 will be conducted by the Indian
Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad). IIM-Ahmedabad will
conduct CAT 2015 on November 29, 2015. IIM Indore was holding Common
Admission Test from last two years
Exam Pattern
he Common Admission Test (CAT), like virtually all large-scale exams, utilises
multiple forms, or versions, of the test. Hence there are two types of scores
involved: a raw score and a scaled score.
The raw score is calculated for each section based on the number of questions
one answered correctly, incorrectly, or omitted. Candidates are given +3 points
for each correct answer and -1 point for each incorrect answer. No points are
given for questions that are not answered. The raw scores are then adjusted
through a process called equating. Equated raw scores are then placed on a
common scale or metric to ensure appropriate interpretation of the scores. This
process is called scaling.
Eligibility
The candidates are required to be graduates with 50 percent marks or possess an
equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of Human Resource
Development
Candidate in the final year of Bachelors degree and those who have completed
the degree course and are awaiting results can apply. If selected such candidates
can provisionally join the program before they submit their original certificate.
Mere fulfillment of the eligibility criteria alone will not guarantee shortlisting by
IIMs. The candidate are required to maintain a valid email account and phone
number throughout the selection process.
Btech students can also pursue carrier options in private, public and service
sectors.
1 Public sector -The public sector is the part of the economy concerned with
providing various government services. The composition of the public sector
varies by country, but in most countries the public sector includes such services
as the military, police, public transit and care of public roads, public education,
along with health care and those working for the government itself, such
as elected officials. The public sector might provide services that a non-payer
cannot be excluded from (such as street lighting), services which benefit all of
society rather than just the individual who uses the service.[1]
Businesses and organizations that are not part of the public sector are part of
the private sector. The private sector is composed of the business sector, which
is intended to earn a profit for the owners of the enterprise, and the voluntary
sector, which includes charitable organizations.
DRDO,ISRO,BRMOS
3.Service sector: The service sector consists of the "soft" parts of the economy,
i.e. activities where people offer their knowledge and time to improve
productivity, performance, potential, and sustainability, which Is termed
as affective labor. The basic characteristic of this sector is the production
of services instead of end products. Services (also known as "intangible goods")
include attention, advice, access, experience, and discussion. The production
of information is generally also regarded as a service, but some economists now
attribute it to a fourth sector, the quaternary sector.
B.Tech students can also join administrative services like IES and IAS.
Students can opt for job opportunities or can join research projects.
students opting for job opportunities can go for teaching profession or can join
companies as mentioned for Btech students.
1.IEEE
IEEE stands for the "Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers". The
association is chartered under this full legal name. IEEE's membership has long
been composed of engineers and scientists. Allied professionals who are
members include computer scientists, software developers, information
technology professionals, physicists, and medical doctors, in addition to IEEE's
electrical and electronics engineering core. For this reason the organization no
longer goes by the full name, except on legal business documents, and is
referred to simply as IEEE.
