“Nothing is as it seems, but something is everything it is

made out to be.”
- Carroll Bryant

“Pinakbet” is a famous Ilocano cuisine. It composes of different vegetables

and seasonings. Many in the region have different style of cooking it. But what
really matters in this cuisine are its flavors and the richness of vegetables. Before
this cuisine becomes famous all over the country, it started simple until it was
innovated and uniquely added with variety of vegetables and seasonings.

Life has different flavors. All we need to do is to taste it with love, grace and
humility. Those flavors of our life are just an experienced to lean on, grow from it,
and reflect on what should have done. But, in those flavors, we can add something
new on it, which is gratefulness.

I know it is hard to please others when we intend to put something new to

the table. There are a lot of criticisms and rejections. Those new inputs can
become a better one only if there is unity, cooperation, hard work and
understanding. Being grateful is something we need to ponder and exercise in our
daily life. As we go on, greatness will never end as long as our hearts is pure and
majestic that can attract people to do so.

This philosophical quotation is something to reflect upon. For me, I learned

that it is not a lost when you try something new and big because as the quote say,
“No harm in trying.” At the end of the day, what really matters is the outcome,
hopefully the better one.

To sum it up, nothing is permanent in this world. Everything will fall into
pieces but the gratefulness we have offer to this world will last forever.
