Education:

“Education is the process of learning of skills, knowledge, receiving and giving systematic
instructions, beliefs, habits and values that transfer from one generation to another.”

As IMAM GHAZALI (R.A) said:

“The Aim of education is character building of Individual so that it could differentiate

between good and evil and avoids following the evil path”

Education system in Pakistan:

As we all know Literacy rate in Pakistan is very low. According to 2012 consensus, the total
literacy rate of Pakistan is 56%. Pakistan is 6th largest country according to Population but
Pakistan placed at 130 positions in Education. The Education system in Pakistan is generally
divided in three main parts that is:

i. Primary Education
ii. Middle Education
iii. Secondary Education

After matriculation some more Education is compulsory for students that includes

i. Vocational Education (Especially for Females)

ii. Technical Education (Both for males and Females)

Flaws in our Education system:

1. Private and Government Schools:

There is a huge difference in Private and government sectors, different standards of education
one for poor students and other for rich students. In Private schools almost all basic necessity
is available on the other hand no chairs no boards are available for students especially in rural
areas.

2. Variety of Syllabus:
Different syllabus and different books are followed in private and government sectors.

3. Our Educational policy changes with political Situation:

As we know our education system policy changes with political situation, every government
change the syllabus according to themselves that place a bad impact on students and they
suffers.

4. No Islamic Education:
In different level students learn about their culture and Islamic education but unfortunately
because of different political situations our country faced no Islamic education now a day.

5. Improper Assessment Systems:

Examination is the evolution of education system. It should be based on qualitative and
quantitative techniques to comprehensively evaluate the performance of students.

6. Lack of Technical Education:

Practice makes people perfect. But unfortunately in Pakistan there is lack of Technical
education system because of this students not know much knowledge about anything.

7. Teaching Quality Problems:

Teachers are the Backbone of Education system but unfortunately teachers are not
professionally trained in government sector. As we all know Reputation of school depends on
the skills of teachers.

8. Institutions are doing Business:

In Private Schools, owners received the Bribe at the name of Donation. Brilliant students can
not continue their studies if they poor.

9. Haphazard Budgets:
Pakistan spends only 2.4% GDP on Education. This GDP divided almost 89% for Teachers
salaries and just 11% for development that is very minimal for students and development.

10. Language Problems:

One of the major reasons for educational crises is to make children compelled to study
English syllabus while our National language is urdu.

Suggestion for Improvement:

1. Teachers should be Trained
2. Increase the Education Fund
3. Increase the number of Government schools, colleges and universities
4. Boycott of Illegal degrees
5. Focus on Practical Education
6. Involvement of Parents
7. Promote online Education
8. Emphasize on religious education
