the trlal pltch angle supplied by The Marley Cooling
Tower Gompany and pitch ail the blades to the

CHECKING LOAD AT MOTOR
1. Operate the fan until motor and Geareducer have
reached operating temperature (approximately 30
minutes of operation). Take oporating voltage and
amperago moasuroinents for.use in calculating
motof HP by the following equation,”

with no water or cold water will result in an erroneous
calculated horsepower.
3. Aone degree change in pitch will vary the power re:
quired by approximately 5 HP.
4. If blades are repitched, cap screws must be retight-
‘ened, between 30 and 35 fIJIbs. torque.
FAN REBALANCE
. 1. Each fan hub is statically balanced at the factory.
2, Replacement blades can be installed without (ield
rebalancing. The blades are manufactured with
uniform moment welghts and are completely inter
changeable.

FAN MAINTENANCE
Check and, if necessary, retighten blade clamping hard
ware to prescribed torque afier the first week of opera
tion and subsequently at 6 month intervals. This should
bbe done al the time the Geareducer oll Is changed.
A periodic (monthly) inspaction of the fan should be
made to assure continued trouble-free operation. Any
accumulation of dirt or scale deposits on the fan should
be carafully and compleggly removed it there are any in:
dications of balance bof@p affected. Preventive mainte
‘nance (o control corrosive attack will prolong the use!ul
life of the fan.
Drain holes in blades must be free of obstructions.
