Mir geht's gut. Und dir? It's going well. And you?

When you ask someone "Wie geht's?" in German-speaking countries, people will think you
are genuinely interested in their wellbeing and they will usually answer honestly.
So be prepared to hear a 10 minute rant about delayed trains when you ask! 😜

In German, we only say "Wie geht's?" to people we know well.


We usually don't ask strangers or people who are higher in status than us.
It would come across as intrusive! 😳
