Statistics

Write 1 or 2 short paragraphs about your own understanding of Statistics. As a RadTech student, why is it
important for you to study Statistics.

The study of statistics are to be able to effectively conduct visual examination to the patients, to
be able to read and evaluate the radiographic image, to further develop critical thinking and analytic
skills, and to know when you need to hire outside statistical help. Without the use of statistics, it would be
very difficult to make decisions based on the data collected. As a future RadTech it is important to learn
about statistics because every day I can gather information’s and data. Otherwise data might be collected
that is uninterpretable. Unfortunately, when this happens it results in a loss of data, time, and other
important plans.

Define five (5) basic terms in Statistics that you have learned from our discussion last Tuesday.

a.) The descriptive statistics and inferential statistics

b.) The main difference between a population and sample
c.) Level of measurement that used in statistics
d.) Parameter and the statistic in the study
e.) collecting and analyzing numerical data in large quantities

Relate an experience during this time of the pandemic that has something to do with Statistics.
Since the start of pandemic, I’m at home almost 7 months’ now, the number of cases is increasing
rapidly. Hence, there are thousands of cases in the Philippines. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-
19) pandemic may be stressful for people. Public health actions, such as social distancing, can make
people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. However, these actions are necessary
to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Coping with stress in a healthy way will make people care about
community stronger. What I do is stay at home and gather information’s about the news and updates of
Covid-19.
