COURSE DESCRIPTION:
‘World Geography is a detailed study of topography, land usage, and natural resources of
the globe from a regional perspective as they directly and indirectly affect human, economic,
historical and political interaction.
- LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
To develop a basic understanding of what the discipliie of geography is: main concepts and theories.
To leam the histories of various regions of the earth as @ way of understanding how contemporary
relationships between places were formed.
To learn; within a regional context, the main sub-felds of geography: physical, cultural, demographic, tlc.
To clatly the contrasts in societies and cultures in human landscapes in different world regions.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
‘There will be four (4) exams, four quizzes,two or three separate map assignments and a final paper.
Class patticipation will also be graded combining attendance with active, informed participation in class
discussions. Attendance will be graded within the context of class participation on a sliding scale.
‘The more classes you attend the better off your grade will be. will explain further in clas

If you have an A EXAM average (90.5/91+) after the first three exams you have the option of
skipping the final exam. After weighing your performance in the other aspects of the course
you must inform me by December Sth or before.
