website maintenance: outdoor lighting/natural light notes

- Try to avoid taking pictures in direct sunlight and try to shoot in the shade.
- The sunny f/16 rule states that on a sunny day, with your aperture value et to f/16, your
shutter speed will be the inverse of the current ISO speed.
- When shooting on a cloudy day use your camera’s custom white balance.
- Follow the rule of thirds→ make sure the eyes of your subject are in the top third of the
image.
- An easy way to eliminate unwanted stuff from the background is to film the frame.
- Consider the direction your subject is toward.
- Shoot from different angles
- Try out different different natural framing techniques
- Large aperature is good for portrait photography
- Lighting: backlight is good
- Think about what your background would look like
- If you are working with light hitting your model just tell them to close their eyes and when
ready to take it ask them to open them.
- 1 before sunset- good time
- natural light- sun-- good when theres cloud cover direct- backlit- harder light
- Lightsource 45 above and to the side-3 dimension
- Have the model tilt their head for contour.
