▪ sponsored the law , since Rizal was the founder of the Philippine nationalism and has
contributed much to the current standing of this nation it is only right that the youth as well as
all the people in the country know about and learn to embody all the great ideals from which
he died.

Enacted in 1956 to seek to accomplish the following goals:

1. To rededicate the lives of youth to the ideals of freedom and nationalism for which our heroes live
and died

2. To pay tribute to our national hero for devoting his life and works for shaping the Filipino
character

3. To gain an inspiring source of patriotism through a study of Rizal life, works and writings

What happened during Spanish colonization in the Philippines

 Much of the archipelago came under the Spanish rule, creating the first unified
political structure known as the Philippines wherein it came from the name Philip,
the king of Spain

 Spanish colonial rules saw the introduction of Christianity, the code of law, and the
oldest modern university in asia, the UST, wherein the Philippines was ruled under
the mexico based vice royalty of new Spain

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED

I've learned to appreciate more the ideals of Rizal, I am inspired by


his bravery and dedication in devoting his life for the sake of the
country.

I realized the importance of studying this subject course and I do


understand the enactment of the Rizal Law. I discovered new facts
about Rizal and during the Spanish colonization that fascinated my
curiosities.

This subject course awakens the Filipino in me, making me want to


be much more knowledgeable to be able to continue his advocacy by
applying his ideals and teachings to the current situation in the
society.
