I can hardly remember the time when I first learned to identify colors, but I know for sure that

that was the moment when I first learned about art. However, even though it has already been
more than a decade when I first encountered art, I still cannot claim that I am knowledgeable
enough about it. Even if I am not an art expert and only know the art basics, I am convinced
that it is still essential for everyone to study art because we interact with it daily.

Art, for me, is a form of human expression. It is the product of creative human activity in which
different elements such as colors, shapes, and the surface used adds a new dimension and
conveys an idea, emotion, or any visually interesting form. It is all about beauty and creativity
since it involves the arranging of elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions, and
acts as a means of communication with the viewer as it represents the thoughts of the artist.

Initially, I am quite unsure if everything that people encounter every day is art. But based on my
primary knowledge about it, art is anything created with imagination and skill. Throughout the
course, I expect to gain a deeper understanding of art and be able to identify which is an art
and not. Also, I anticipate fun, creative, and engaging class discussions every meeting to be lead
by our professor since it would make learning more comfortable and more exciting. Lastly, I am
curious about how will art influence my perspectives on life- as a daughter, sibling, and student.
