SYMPATHETIC CHARACTER IN KING

LEAR: There are two character which we found is sympathetic in
SHEKHSPEARIAN PLAY “KING LEAR”
1:LEAR
2:GLOUCESTER
In Shakespeare's play King Lear, both Gloucester and King Lear begin to
impress readers because they are meaningful and cool. By the end of the play, the
reader sympathizes with both characters because they have been betrayed by
their children. Both King Lear and Gloucester became the first examples of
sympathetic characters by the end of the play. King Lair first appears in the play as
he divides his kingdom between his three daughters, announcing that he will not
give Cordelia any of his kingdom.
In King Lear, the two characters, Gloucester and King Lear, both run parallel paths.
The turning point of the play is where the reader begins to feel sorry for them as
soon as things start to get worse for them. At the beginning of the play, Lear
makes bad decisions about giving his daughters his land and power, while
Gloucester feels bad for Edmond as a bastard. Their decisions fly off their faces
and the reader begins to feel bad about them. King Lear is obsessed and
Gloucester rolls his eyes and wants to kill himself. Impressions are gained in a
fluid, global, diffused way. The fate of Gloucester and King Lear runs parallel as
they both misunderstand which of their children to trust, and they both make
their own mistakes. They are both sympathetic characters because by the end of
the game you feel sorry for them and what they have to go through, even though
they made mistakes in the beginning. These characters show that even if a
character starts to become meaningful, sharp and angry, the reader may feel bad
for them because of what happens to their decisions.
