Base

This component is forms the bulk of the paint

Usually in the form of a fine powder

Its normally metallic oxide such as red and white led and zinc and iron oxides

Vehicle

This help to keep the paint in suspension

It holds all the ingredients of the paint bonded

Carrier

Helps the paint to spread evenly without any discontinuity in the application

An example could be linseed oil

Drier

It accelerates the drying process

It reduces the elasticity of the paint

Finley grounded compounds of cobalt and led is a paint drier

Pigment

Pigment is the manifestation of whatever colour that is desire by its designer

Copper powder, zinc powder

Solvent

Reduces the viscosity of the paint so that it can spread over the surface easily

It also reduces glossiness of the paint
