We have so many regrets in life. But how does it come to the point that we regret it?

Because
we’re not happy about it? It does not me our expectation? I understand. However, let’s not
forget those moments that we regret because somehow, it makes something become meaningful
and valuable.
Enough for that, let me introduce myself. I am a Senior High School student, Grade 11 General
Academic Strand—one of the first batch of K-12 Curriculum Implementation in the Philippines.
I was born February 17, 2000, seventeen years old. I have a humble and simple family like the
others and not that kind that was born in a bed of roses person. Everything I have right now was
because of my parent’s sleepless hard work every single day and I will always be proud that they
are my parents.
“Anong gusto mo para sa project natin?” my classmate asked me.
“I have a sketch inside my bag, could you please get it for me?” I said in a very sweet and
admiring voice. She smiled.
“O-Oopo.”
I am a consistent honor student since 1st year high school and currently the vice president of our
school. I can’t say that I am genius but rather I would love to describe myself as someone who
complies task ahead of time and always giving the very best that I can.
As Mina passed the sketch to me, I started discussing about our project. Exactly four o’clock we
finished discussing and started to pack up our things.
“Narinig niyo yun? May bagong teacher daw sa atin.”
“Ipapakilala sila bukas.”
“Hays, sana naman may isang anghel sa kanila.”
Lalapit sana ako sa kanila but Machlony approached me. “Let’s have a meeting about the new
teachers.” Machlony Enrigo is our School’s President and number one in class.
“Will you excuse me just for once? My mother is waiting outside.”
“Hmm,” napakamot ito sa ulo. “Nakakapanibago na wala ka.”
“Babawi ako.”
“You don’t have to, it’s okay. Goodbye! Ingat.”
“Bye Motmot.” I called him in his nickname. This person is really a monster in terms of
academic. I can absolutely define him as a genius man while being a humble one but we’re not
that really close. Actually, I don’t really have that someone in particular that I can call a friend
but a lot of people are always behind me and just by having that is enough for me.
“Nak, kanina pa ako. Ngayon lang kayo nakauwi?” salubong ni Mama sa akin sabay mano ko sa
kanya.
“Pasensya na Mang, may tinapos lang kami.”
“Halika na?” tumango lang ako at bahagyang nginitian siya.
