Leadership and the Organization

Abstract

In business, leadership is linked to performance, and any leadership definition has to take that

into account. Therefore, while leadership isn't intrinsically linked to profit, those who are

viewed as effective leaders in corporate contexts are the ones who increase their company's

bottom line. While there are people who seem to be naturally endowed with more leadership

abilities than others, anyone can learn to become a leader by improving particular skills. History

is full of people who, while having no previous leadership experience, have stepped to the fore

in crises and persuaded others to follow their suggested course of action.

Leadership is the act of motivating the group of people to act towards achieving a common goals. There

are many good leaders in history showing example how a leaders must act. Together they make the

backbone of the leadership skill. We know that leaders are made not born. Leaders are molded through

experience, adaption and continue studies. Some of the qualities consistency possess found on leaders

are:

 Integrity

 Ability to delegate

 Communication

 Self- awareness

 Gratitude

 Learning agility

 Influence

 Empathy

 Respect

The qualities mentioned above are some of the major qualities poses by top world leaders in business,

industry and continents. Integrity as doing the right thing even no one is seeing. The ability to delegate

helps to free up and improve team work with others. Communication provides the fluency in

information flow and ideas. Self-awareness to understand self. Gratitude can lead to higher self-steam,

reduced anxiety and depression and even better sleep. Learning ability is to know what to do when you

don’t know what to do. Influencing able to convince other through emotional. Logical or cooperative.

Empathy a critical part of emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness the ability to understand

and share feeling with other and lastly respecting others are qualities of good leader. Among these I

mostly align with integrity, gratitude, learning agility, empathy, respect, ability to delegate, self-

awareness. I don’t prefer to actually know how much influential I am till now but I would like to boost

my influential ability in coming future.

Aligning personal vision with values

Personal values serves as a foundation for vision. I have realized that time is valuable, putting

more time on other vision before self-vision will only be wasting time and diminishing time for

personal vision. The habit of successful requires the awareness of time. Also Commitment can

be scary but it allows us to think our values and ask question. Taking a moment to align

personal value with vision. Commenting to on small values daily. Time management can be

essential values to acquire my vision.

Organization Climate and Effective Leadership

Organizational climate reflects the perceptions and emotions that members of the organization

have about the nature of their work environment (Glisson & James, 2002). Organizational

climate is the platform where a leader can guide and manage to show the direction to the

subordinates. If there is positive environment and flow of information and knowledge is

encouraged in the organization it helps leaders become more effective to direct his vision.

Organization climate will also help to maintain a moral base for the employee. The good

organizational climate will surely help in effective leadership. For example if there is

organizational climate to reward the innovative employee, leaders can benefit from these

employee to executive the company vision participating with the employee.

Empowering and Team Player

Empowering and team player are the common traits in the modern business. In modern world

employee are not convinced to work for organization based on salary. Employee need to feel

they are motivated to work for the company and they are also part of company contributing

towards company vision. I would like one example of our team and empowering moment.

Employee of twitter cannot stop raving. Rooftop meeting, friendly environment and team

oriented in which each person is motivated by company goals have inspired that praise. No

program or activity will set top the rules having happy and fulfilled employee who feels what

they are doing matters.

Conflict and Diversity

When everyone is working together finding common goals or values is difficult. But the

successful organization depends upon the team work and diverse ideas. Conflict in organization

may occur due to language, religion, cultural gaps, gender or prejudice. Creating the

organization culture based on the diversity can be helpful as it diminish the like hood of

diversity based conflict. Its importance to train the leadership to be able to manage the diverse

employee and work together. Upper level management can help the foster the culture and

support the HR in needed during the conflict. The standard procedure to be followed to insure

the if anything goes wrong company is reliable to work that provides trust to people of different

diverse group to work.

Conclusion

Leaders are the one that are influential to other who work in a team fulfilling others vision too.

To flourish effective leadership there are many condition that can be helpful or become the

platform for leaders to executive the leadership. Leaders need to make their subordinate

motivated to acquire their vision. Leaders should always try to maintain the diverse workforce

to flourish the different ideas and working methods as different culture or religion can bring

different perceptive to the table. The Doritos Company is successful in USA because it was able

to Caught its Mexican employee suggestion to include Mexican spices flavor which is now one

of leading product in company. These show how motivated and organizational culture to

flourish diversity and working together will in return benefit company.
