during geological events

WHY GEOLOGIC
EVENTS OCCUR?
A convergent plate boundary is a
location where two tectonic plates
are moving toward each other,
often causing one plate to slide
below the other (in a process
known as subduction). The collision
of tectonic plates can result in
earthquakes, volcanoes, the
formation of mountains, and other
geological events.

EFFECTS TO
PEOPLE?
Humans impact the physical environment
in many ways: overpopulation, pollution,
burning fossil fuels, and deforestation.
Changes like these have triggered climate
change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and
undrinkable water. These negative
impacts can affect human behavior and
can prompt mass migrations or battles
over clean water.
