What is the Product Registration Feature?
The Sage CRM 7.2 Product Registration feature (also known as Call Home) is designed to
ensure that Sage CRM installers register each instance of Sage CRM they install, whether on
test servers or production servers at customer sites.

How does it work?


• Installers will need to register their Sage CRM instance during an install of 7.2 or when
upgrading to 7.2.
Note: If using a trial key, installers will not be asked to register their Sage CRM system.
• Specifically, they will be prompted for Customer and Business Partner details on the final
install / setup screen. See below.

• The details must be completed to continue with the installation.


• Details entered are stored in the Sage CRM database.
• If connected to the internet, Sage CRM calls home to the Sage CRM License Key Generator
“KeyGen” website on the first logon.
• If not connected to the internet on the first logon, an attempt will be made to “call home”
after an IIS reset and subsequent logon.
• If the Sage CRM system cannot be connected to the internet, manual registration is
possible. To do this, go to https://productregistration.sagecrm.com/ and follow the steps
provided on the screen.

If the product is not successfully registered, a blue banner will appear on all screens for all
users.

Do I need to register subsequent installations?
Yes. Each time you perform a Sage CRM installation, you will need to register.

How many times can I register the same key?


You can register a key 5 times. If you need to install Sage CRM more than five times, you must
contact your local Sage license key team, or a local Sage employee with access to the the
Sage CRM License Key Generator “KeyGen” website.

I need to register my key more than 5 times. What do I do?


If you need to install Sage CRM more than five times, you must contact your local Sage license
key team, or a local Sage employee with access to the the Sage CRM License Key Generator
“KeyGen” website.

I’m part of a License Key Team. Can I enable a key to be installed


more than 5 times?
Yes. If the Business Partner or Customer has a valid reason for needing to install their product
more than five times, you need to do the following:

• Log onto https://keygen.sagecrm.com/crmkeygen2/eware.dll/go


• Select Find | Product Registration.

• Enter your search criteria and select Find on the right-hand side of the screen.

• Select the Associated License Key ID link.

• When the license key details screen is displayed, select Increase Max Key Registrations.

• Enter the new value in the Max. Number of Registrations for this key: field and Save.
