Privacy is significant because it helps people protect themselves from judgments, and it can also use to
affect our reputations, influence our decisions, and be used to exercise control over us. The government
implemented Republic Act 10173, it is also known as the Data Privacy Act, a law that seeks to protect all
forms of information, be it private, personal, or sensitive. It is meant to cover both natural and juridical
persons involved in the processing of personal information. It serves as the protection and rights of
individuals to confidentiality by setting a legal list of rules for companies to regulate the collection,
handling, and disposal of all personal information. The government should improve the law as much as
technology advances.
