Independence Day, 2020
NewsUttarakhand
On this Independence Day, 2020 celebrating the freedom struggle and vision
of freedom
fighters for a more equitable country- the values of founding figures we wish
to
acknowledge with our new beginning, the iCFDR Fellowship. The fellowship is
aimed at
improving the lives of underprivileged children living in slums of Delhi and
working
with our project, Easy Classes. On the launch founder of iCFDR, Adv Ravindra
Vikram,
reflected, “In our long journey, we all have reaped benefit of freedom, which
seems to
have come naturally to us, and we celebrate some days in memory of the
founding
figures of the nations, this fellowship is inspired from their efforts to ensure
we live in
free and fair society, however it's our responsibility to improve the
living conditions and
eliminate the injustice meted out to those at disadvantage. This fellowship on
Independence Day is our small and humble initiative to use the constructive
efforts to
help underprivileged kids in living in unfair conditions in slums.”
The iCFDR Fellowship is a twelve months program suit for both students and
working
professionals motivated to be change agents in the marginalised
communities. In the
first phase, the project is focused in the capital city, Delhi, however with time
it would
be expanded to other cities. The social work fellowship at Indian Centre for
Development and Rights targets to improve the life of children living in
slums. It is also
a chance to transform the selected individuals as fellows into excellent
leaders with
multi disciplinary skills and deep understanding grassroots social work.
The iCFDR Fellowship aims at relieving the complex challenges and
sufferings of the
underprivileged children in slums through Easy Classes by guiding,
counselling,
tutoring, and using education as a tool to create better prospects and a
brighter future
for them. With the tagline, “Igniting Minds. Inspiring Actions.” fellowships
ensure youth
are a part of the mission to build a brighter future for the country. It also
brings together
the constructive youth of the nation to contribute for welfare of the society.
A fellow is expected to commit minimum 12 hours a week and
enthusiastically
participate in shaping and developing young minds towards a better future
for these
children and the community. iCFDR invites passionate applicants who are
ready to
voluntarily offer their services Delhi, work diligently to accomplish social
justice, while
living a balanced life.
The fellowship is an extension of the work and vision at iCFDR to have a
holistic
approach towards sustainable development. It also emanates from our ethos
to
promote volunteerism and a considerable amount of experience with young
minds and
underprivileged masses.
