COVID Measures for the Book Fair…

*The Fall Book Fair is for in-person students and staff members. Parents may not come into
the media center to purchase books. Digital students will order online using our homepage
information in the link below.
*Glenda and I will be setting up, selling, and dismantling the Book Fair since no volunteers are
allowed in the building. Because we are running the entirety of the Book Fair, our media
center services will be limited.
*To adhere to contact tracing guidelines, students must visit and purchase at your class time
(See link below to sign up for 1-2 times). Therefore, students may not visit at random times.
*Students will not be handling the books. Instead, the books will be behind a clear plastic
covering. The students will point to the books they are interested in for us to pull for them.
*We cannot have students preview the Book Fair as in the past, so please watch the videos
(link below), encourage students to preview the flyer, and/or show students the homepage to
see the 360-view of the Book Fair.

Author Video: Share the appropriate video(s) with your class by clicking on Scholastic Videos
with your class on Thursday (Oct. 15) or Friday (Oct. 16). Once the video link opens, scroll down
the right side of the screen to show the video(s) that you want your class to view. Email me your
class’ favorite book from the video by Monday (Oct. 19) afternoon to earn a free book from the
book fair drawing (up to $5) for your classroom.

Staff Preview: You may preview the book fair on Friday, October 16 from 3:00-4:00 PM. We
will not have Wish Bins due to handling of books. Due to this year’s COVID circumstances, you
might consider a virtual list for parents since they will not be able to come into the media
center.

General Information: We would appreciate your help advertising the fair through a class email,
newsletter, and/or your eCLASS page. You may copy this Sugar Hill Book Fair homepage link to
share with parents. For in-person students, please send the paper flyers home by Friday,
October 16. For digital students, they are able to view the homepage that includes a digital
flyer and a 360-view of the Book Fair to purchase books. The books are delivered straight to
their homes.
Reminders:
 Make checks payable to Scholastic Book Fair.
 We accept all major credit/debit cards.
 eWallet is a very convenient method of payment where parents can add money to their
eWallet account by going to Sugar Hill Book Fair homepage. Therefore, students do not
need to bring cash/checks to school. Although cash will be accepted if students bring
this as their method of payment.
 In addition, eWallet is a great way to gift a student with a book. This option replaces gift
certificates.
 All staff receives a 10% discount.
 Remind students to bring enough money for tax.

Book Fair Schedule: Click here to access the Book Fair Schedule. Choose 1-2 times for your
class to visit the book fair beginning Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23. There are 18
slots per day (except for early release days) and run 20 minutes each.
