ICT: The Foundation of Development

Information Communication and Technology, also known as ICT is changing people


lives everywhere. This goes to home, to the office, and to the school. It is this I will be defining
what ICT means and what it contributes to the betterment of one’s country. ICT is a modern
medium of connectivity among people from different parts of the world and thus changed the
system of life. It represents an enormous opportunity to introduce significant and lasting positive
change across the developing world. It has a huge of functions in society, communication, and
education. ICT helps our society to grow more business. It gives people’s opportunity
to work even they are in their homes without requiring them to report in their offices. It can
also help other big companies to expand their business through the use of social media by means
of dealing with their clients online. ICT is indeed marvelous to mention the Global Positioning
System (GPS) which is used in tracking the locations of all forms of transportation for the
purpose of giving immediate response in cases of emergency.
ICT contributes in the improvement of means and speed of
communication. Personally, I can connect to my family, friends, mentors and classmates whom I
wanted to reach. It helps me save money. Before it costs us a peso to send a text message, but
with the internet, we can send multiple messages and only be charged by a fraction.
ICT changes the paradigm of education and
instruction. It provides best opportunities to enhance perception and comprehension using ICT
tools. The integration of ICT in Senior High School surely opens doors of opportunities for
students, especially for those who are taking the STEM Strand which is always coined with
researching and investigating. With this ICT is a great help to learning. It helps access
information, fast and reliable researches. ICT has simply makes the task easier and more
efficient, and allows the final product to be presented at a higher standard. With all these being
said, it is safe to say that ICT is the foundation of development across many dimensions. ICT
leads to broadening of perspectives, building up of greater understanding of current situations. It
has a great impact and has to lead to changes to the ever evolving populace.
