Davide Moretti Leaving Texas Tech for European League

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech guard Davide Moretti has decided to forego his senior season
and play professionally in Italy. According to Sportando, Moretti signed a 2-year contract with
Olimpia Milano- a professional Italian team that has been successful in their last three seasons.

Moretti played an important role in getting the Red

Raiders to the NCAA championship in 2019. In his
2018-19 season he averaged 11.5 points per game.

Although this past “season was cut short by the

Coronavirus pandemic”, Moretti was one of the
leading scorers along with Jahmi’us Ramsey who
recently declared for the NBA draft. Moretti averaged
“13 points per game”, shot 46% from the 3-point
range, and set the schools record in free-throw
accuracy at 90.6%.

Without Moretti and Ramsey, the Red Raiders are losing two essential shooters and leaders.
Texas Tech is working to fill these spots and have recently landed five-star recruit Nimari
Burnett and is known as one of the best shooting guards in the 2020 class.

The Texas Tech men’s basketball organization is dedicated to creating an environment of

excellence that allows their student-athletes to thrive.
