Intro:
As you know the virus Covid 19 has been causing panic and fear in the world these last 8
months. While there is still no cure or vaccine from this virus there are a number of things
people can easily do to prevent the spread. The government has told us to do three main
things, wear masks in public and when in close proximity to other people other than family,
wash your hands more frequently, and practice social distancing to the best of your ability.
First Paragraph: Dangers of not Wearing a mask
Masks are used as barriers to protect others. The mask creates a barrier to prevent respiratory
drops in our breath from traveling in the air. These droplets come out when we cough, sneeze,
and even talk.
Second Paragraph: Dangers of not washing your hands
Covid 19 is similar to normal viruses in that it will easily stick to objects. While the virus can
only live for a small amount of time on objects, it has become more important to wash your
hands more frequently and more thoroughly.
Third Paragraph: Dangers of not social distancing
Some people do not show symptoms when they have the virus. This is why social distancing is
especially important. The respiratory droplets we exhale can travel up to 6 feet, that is why we
are told to try to distance 6 feet in public or whenever possible.
Conclusion
Wearing a mask reduces the chance of getting the virus by 65% and social distancing reduces
the chance by 90%, therefore if 100% of people did just those two things, we would stop the
spread of the pandemic. People that may not know they have the virus can be out in public and
by wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing your hands we are all doing our part in
stopping the spread of this virus.
