New employers: total payroll for the first two consecutive calendar years corresponds
to the salaries of wages paid from the beginning of the calendar year to the end of the
period covered by the remittance of the contribution to the health services fund. The
rate must therefore be adjusted for each remittance period on the basis of the
cumulative total payroll for the preceding periods.

The following provinces and territories have no employer or employee premiums or payroll taxes for health
care at this time. Health insurance costs are funded out of general funds.

Shift Schedule: 12 hour shifts. 2 week on and 2 week off shift rotation.

Incentive plan: The company establishes key performance indicators each quarter. Employees will be eligible to
a
lump-sum payment equal to 5.0% of their basic wage during the period, multiplied by the
weighted value of each performance indicator. The base wage includes vacation and the first 30
days sick leave, but excludes the allowances, overtime and leave beyond 30 days and extended
leave. This amount will be set at 7.5% of base wage if objectives are met, and 12.5% if they are
exceeded. To be eligible, employees must be actively employed with the company on the last
day of the quarter.

Merit Pay: The company uses a market-based merit pay system. Wage scales are estimated based
on a series of factors including experience, productivity, security, disciplinary measures and
absenteeism. Based on the formula used, wages are reviewed on June 1 of each year and
employees
whose wages are beyond the scale are not entitled to an increase; those at the classification’s
maximum are entitled to a lump-sum payment; and those at less than 80% of the classification
maximum are increased to that level (employees receive 1.5% to 4.0% merit pay).

Other benefits: Jury duty or court witness leave, 4 days bereavement leave, maternity/paternity leave. The
company
provides specialized environmental clothing and PPE that is required to do the job safely.

Incentive bonus plans: Productivity Bonus

This company pays a productivity bonus to miners under a contract system. The
company posts the contracts and miners may bid on the contracts offered. This is an
incentive-type program based on a set number of man hours required to perform a
specific job. The company determines the conditions of work payments. Payments are
calculated and paid twice a month.
