MARISA SYLVIA CAALIM

INSIGHTS

CASE 1

I can say that Kevin Systrom and Mike Kriegner really have the
characteristics of being a risk-taker. They were able to be brave, jump in
and take risks. I learned that without risk, there is no reward.

CASE 2

I can say that Julie Spurgeon is a good example having the entrepreneurial
traits specifically innovation, creativity, and being a risk-taker because as
part of a university project, she had to design a set of tableware and get
evaluation from industry experts when she showed retailer Fortnum & Mason
her ceramic tableware they commissioned a range of bone china ware
named: Material Pleasures.

CASE 3

I can say that, just like the others, Tony Fernandes is also an open risk –
taker because he was willing to take the risk while buying Air Asia with RM1
and nearly RM40 million debts in 2001.

CASE 4

I can say that Jonathan Ruff has a clear vision of what the business will be
and can concisely articulate its purpose, goals and market position. He have
identified (and can succinctly describe) the who, what, where, when and why
of their business.

CASE 5

Tina Katsighiras is passionate about her business. I think people with

passion know what it drives them to keep working to achieve their vision.
