    Pressure in a fluid is caused by the weight of the fluid above pushing down. To convert between pound mass and pound force, we multiply the mass in pounds by the acceleration due to gravity, which is 32.2 ft/s^2. This gives us the equivalent force in pounds that the mass exerts due to gravity.
