The purpose of this assignment is to have students apply knowledge and techniques learned
through completion of Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) (formerly Status of Women
Canada) on-line modules on Gender based Analysis and other diverse groups. Student may chose
to apply the GBA+ to their particular area of interest – and indeed chose the same topic as their final
paper. In attention to Gender, students are encouraged to think about how their policy area may
affect or be affected by other underrepresented groups such as Aboriginal peoples, the LGBQ2SI
community, recent immigrants and/or refugees, persons with disabilities, African Nova Scotians, etc.
The Assignment will be 1000-1200 words double space with appropriate referencing.
Presentation: Students may choose to present the results of their analysis to the class on October
21., 28 or Nov 4. This will support students in the development of their understanding of a policy
issue that they will analyze in the final paper.
Please attach a screen picture that demonstrates you have completed the GBA+ modules.
