CIUDAD: Neiva is a municipality in the department of Huila.

It is located
between the Central and Eastern mountain ranges, in a plain on the eastern edge of
the Magdalena River, in the valley of the same name, crossed by the Las Ceibas
River and the Oro River. Its territorial extension of 1533 km², its height of 442
meters above sea level.

LUGARES:
Museo arqueológico regional: In this museum you can find 305 pieces such as
petroglyphs, statues and ceramic, goldsmith and stone objects, as well as bone
remains that have been found in Neiva and its surroundings, as well as in the
municipalities of Tesalia, San Agustín and La Argentina.

Monumento a la Gaitana: On the banks of the Magdalena River, on Circunvalar


Avenue, is the sculpture 'La Gaitana', which represents the famous indigenous
woman who led the defense of these lands against the onslaught of the Spanish
conquerors.

CLIMA: The temperature of this city is considered a living hell, since the
temperature can reach up to 37 ° Celsius, and the heat becomes too overwhelming
even for its inhabitants.

CULTURA: The city develops different cultural activities, the most representative
sample of which is the Folkloric Festival, the National Bambuco Reign and the
International Folklore Sample, considered one of the most important festivals in
Colombia, held annually during the month of June
