21 wind power projects.

As many as 21 wind power projects with a cumulative capacity of 1012.2 MW are at different
stages of development which will start power generation by 2018.

Official sources told APP here that these projects each having 50MW capacity included;

3) China Sunec Energy,
4) Three Gorges Second Wind Farm Pvt. Ltd.,
5) Three Gorges Third Wind Farm Pvt. Ltd.,
6) Tricon Boston Consulting Corporation Pvt. Limited,
7) Tricon Boston Consulting Corporation Pvt. Limited,
8) Tricon Boston Consulting Corporation Pvt. Limited,
9) Western Energy Pvt. Limited,
10) Hartford Alternative Energy Pvt. Limited,
11) Zephyr Power (Pvt.) Ltd,
12) Shaheen Foundation,
13) Trans-Atlantic Energy Pvt. Ltd.,
14) Norinco International Thatta Power Pvt.,
15) Act 2 Wind Ltd.,
16) Artistic Wind Power Pvt. Ltd.,
17) Harvey Wind Power Project,
18) Zulikha Energy Ltd.,
19) Gul Ahmed Electric Ltd.,
20) Din Energy Ltd.,

These power projects were being set up in Jhampir, Gujju and Gharo District Thatta (Sindh),
the sources said.

They said that some nine projects making a cumulative capacity of 479 MW had also achieved
financial close and were under construction and would start generation shortly, they said.

These projects included;

1) Metro Power Company Ltd. (50 MW),


2) Tapal Wind Energy Pvt. Ltd (30 MW),
3) Gul Wind Energy Ltd.(50 MW),
4) United Energy Pakistan Pvt. Ltd (99 MW),
5) Hydro China Dawood Power Pvt. Ltd. (50 MW),
6) Master Wind Energy Pvt. Ltd (50 MW),
7) Tenaga Generasi Ltd. (50 MW),
8) Sachal Energy Development Pvt. Ltd.

The sources said some six wind power projects of 308.2 MW cumulative capacity have
achieved Commercial Operation and were supplying electricity to National Grid.

These projects included;

1) FFC Energy Limited (49.5 MW),


2) Zorlu Enerji Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd (56.4 MW),
3) Three Gorges First Wind Farm Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited (49.5 MW),
4) Foundation Wind Energy – II Ltd. (50 MW),
5) Foundation Wind Energy – I Ltd. (50 MW),
6) Sapphire Wind Power Company Ltd (52.8 MW).
Deep conversion refinery, petrochemical complex.
Saudi Arabia wants to install the refinery with capacity to refine the crude oil of 300,000 barrel
per day.

UAE wants to establish the refinery with investment of $5-6 billion in Hub, Baluchistan with
capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.

Chinese company is keen to establish refinery of 200,000 barrels per day with investment of $3-
4 billion.

“If these kind of art refineries are established, then by 2030, the country’s capacity to refine the
petroleum products will go up to 45-50 million tonnes per annum which currently stands at
almost 26 million tonnes,” said the official.

Currently, there are seven oil refineries operating in the country.

1) Pak-Arab Refinery Co Ltd (Parco) of 100,000 bpd (4.5mtpa),


2) National Refinery Ltd (NRL) of 64,000 bpd (2.9MTPA),
3) Pakistan Refinery Ltd (PRL) of 47,000 bpd (2.1mtpa),
4) Attock Refinery Ltd (ARL) of 43,000 bpd (1.9mtpa),
5) Byco Refineries of 155,000 bpd (7mtpa) output capacity, which was commissioned in
June 2015.
