Important Safety Instructions

1. READ INSTRUCTIONS - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the DVD player is operated.

2. RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.

3. HEED WARNINGS - All warnings on the DVD player and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.

4. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS - All operating and maintenance instructions should be followed.

5. CLEANING - Unplug this DVD player from the wall outlet before cleaning. Clean only with a soft, lint-free cotton cloth, lightly moistened
with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any abrasive pad, scouring powder nor solvent-containing spray cleaners on the player.

6. ATTACHMENTS - Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may be hazardous.

7. WATER & MOISTURE - Do not use this DVD player near water—for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet
basement, near a swimming pool or the like.

8. ACCESSORIES - Do not place this DVD player on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The DVD player may fall, causing serious
injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the DVD player. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the
manufacturer or sold with the DVD player. Any mounting of the DVD player should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and should use a
mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.

9. POWER SOURCES - This DVD player should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure
of the type of power supply to your home consult your appliance dealer or local power company.

10. GROUNDING OR POLARIZATION - This DVD player is equipped with a 3-wire grounding plug having a third (grounding) pin.

11. POWER-CORD PROTECTION - Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed
upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords of plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the DVD player.

Should spillage occur, unplug unit and have it checked by a technician before use.

15. SERVICING - Do not attempt to service this DVD player yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to a dangerous
voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

16. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE - Unplug this DVD player from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel
under the following conditions:

a. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged.

b. If any liquid has been spilled onto or objects have fallen into the DVD player.

c. If the DVD player has been exposed to rain or water.

d. If the DVD player does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are
covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require
extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the DVD player to its normal operation.

e. If the DVD player has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.

f. When the DVD player exhibits a distinct change in performance—this indicates a need for service.

17. REPLACEMENT PARTS - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified
by the manufacturer or those having the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire,
electric shock or other hazards.

18. SAFETY CHECK - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this DVD player ask the service technician to perform safety checks
to determine that the DVD player is in safe operating order.

19. HEAT - This DVD player should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other products (including

The CL-2500 DVD contains the following accessories:

2 Insert and Test Batteries


Push the tab and lift off the rear battery cover. Insert the two (2) sup-
plied AA alkaline batteries, paying close attention to the proper polari-
ties (+ and –). Press the battery cover back into place. The tab should
click when the cover is locked.
• Test the remote by pressing PWR and any mode key (e.g., DVD,
CBL, VCR, etc.). If the batteries are inserted correctly, the LED
will blink once.
• When the batteries need replacement, the remote keys will blink
twice with every key press. Simply replace the batteries and the
remote control will be restored to its full functionality, including
programmed settings.

Warranty Information

LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY


1. Warranty—California Audio Labs warrants its products to be free from manufacturing defects in material and work-
manship, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, for a period of TWO (2) years from date of purchase by the
original purchaser.

2. The warranty is subject to the following conditions and limitations—The warranty is void if: the product has been
used other than in accordance with the instructions in the owner’s manual; abused or misused, damaged by accident
or neglect or in transport, or the defect is due to the product being repaired or tampered with by anyone other than
California Audio Labs or an authorized repair center. Nor shall this warranty apply to defects or failure caused by
unauthorized parts, improper maintenance, fire, flood, lightning or other “Acts of God.” The product must be packed
in its original carton and returned to California Audio Labs or an authorized service center by the customer at his or
her sole expense. If the product is not shipped in its original carton, there will be a charge for a new carton upon
return of the goods from California Audio Labs after service. A returned product must be accompanied by a written
description of the problem and a photocopy of the original sales receipt. The factory must be contacted for a Return
Authorization number. No equipment will be accepted for repair without a return authorization number.

3. Remedy—In the event the product fails to meet the above warranty and the above conditions have been met, the
purchaser’s sole remedy shall be to return the product to California Audio Labs or an authorized repair center where
the defect will be rectified without charge for parts or labor. California Audio Labs will pay return freight only.

4. Limited to the original purchaser—This warranty is for the sole benefit of the original purchaser of the covered
product and shall not be transferred to a subsequent purchaser.

5. Miscellaneous—Any implied warranties relating to the product shall be limited to the duration of this warranty. The
warranty does not extend to any incidental nor consequential costs or damages to the purchaser.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not
allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential
damages.
