ASSIGNMENT # 3: Compare and contrast the three sisters.

"The Little Willow" is the story written by the author Frances Tower. Lisby is the main character
of the story. Brenda and Charlotte are her sisters. they were living in the courthouse. there was
a time of war. soldiers were used to coming in the courthouse to enjoy their lives after the war
and in their holidays.

Lisby is the youngest of the three sisters. Charlotte was a stage designer while Brenda was an
expert in playing the piano. They were a brilliant host that's why in the wartime their house had
become a place of refuge for many young men who came on vacations from the war. The boys
coming into their home fell victim to Brenda or Charlotte'S LOVE.

were very seductive. They always attracted the boys and made them captive of their attraction.
They played with the hearts of young men. They were not sincere girls but were the type of girls
who had always been used to left boys and find new loves for their selves. these two playful
girls are not sincere with their loves and expert in finding a new love for them

Lisby liked Simon Byrne for the passion of his personality who comes to visit the courthouse.
SIMON is an army officer She did not value his status or any other factor but she liked him
spiritually. Both personalities are somehow similar to each other. She never expressed her love
for him in words Nor Simon expresses his love for her but they expressed it through their eyes.
Lisby believes in one and constant love. Her love for Simon was pure. we may find later in the
story that after hearing to the news of Simon Death in war, She starts crying

Although Charlotte, Brenda and Lisby were three sisters but Charlotte and Brenda always
remained busy in entertaining the army officers who came to their house. On the contrary,
Lisby was constant in love with Simon. neither she could declare her love for him nor she could
even try to confess her love because of shyness. Her sisters were physically valued but she was
spiritually deep and exalted. Charlotte, Lisby's eldest sister complimented Lisby by calling her as
serene and deep as the moonlight while she compared herself and Brenda with arc lamps
