ENRICHMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF

ARCHITECTURE

HISTORY
BEHIND

Present Architecture block was destined for the usage of Department of

Education.

It got switched to the usage of Department of Architecture from february-

2018.

PRESENT
SCENARIO

The entire area, the two storeyed building occupies is 2493 sq.m, which can be entered
through a broad lane.

The building houses rooms for various departmental activities, which includes an open

courtyard of 593 sq.m. and an atrium of 202

sq.m.

ISSUES RELATED TO THE

PROPOSAL

The entrance which serves as the only main access into the department is not defined
properly.
The ratio of the open courtyard seems to be a bit vast for the users and it doesn't solve
the

need.

PROJECT
BRIEF

The frontal portion of the building can be designed with certain architectural elements
that promotes the activity inside by inspiring the users.

An entry point which defines the activity that happens

inside.

The department must be secured. Can be provided with a canopy or a portico to receive
vehicles.

The open courtyard space can be proposed with certain connections, where the
students can interact in a better way.
PROPOSAL

Detailed drawings that shows the entire designed elements which includes the frontal
area of the building, entrance, courtyard design.

Estimation and costing shall be

added.

Innovative usage of materials and its

details.
